Early Christmas card

I woke up pretty early this morning, wanting to go for my morning walk, but end up making a card instead!  Well I did some pretty strenuous steps exercise to compensate after I was done with the card, because the sun was up and I do not fancy walking in the sun.

I made a very simple christmas card for the following challenges :-

1.   DCD Christmas club challenge 35 - no pictures or images

2.  Sweet stampin challenge 44 - stitching

Here is my christmas card :

Materials used :-

1.   Clear stamp : a very merry christmas to you  inked with versamark dazzle frost, and embossed with
      Zig embossing powder, rich red

2.   Card stock : DCWV, patter paper : Papermania

3.   Faux stitches marked with sakura glitter pen

4.   Ribbon and paper stars : Hong Kong

A white card for ODBD challenge - White and Bright

I went for my 3rd painting lesson with Astrid today.   I thoroughly enjoyed her class and am glad I starting painting again.   Astrid told her there is no wrong in painting and asked me to go with what I feel, she quoted a saying :"do not paint what you see, but paint what you feel".  I was somewhat troubled and frustrated the last few days, and was much less troubled after my painting class.

Here is my painting :-
'
After the venting my frustrations and troubles with my painting, I came home and started to make a card with the new stamps that I just got from Jer for my birthday, thanks Jer darling.   She asked Angie and Flo to help her buy them from ODBD and I was so disappointed when Angie and Flo told me (when we were opening our boxes of goodies that just arrive) they did not buy 2 sets of the stamps that I really wanted!    When I told Vincent, he told me it was a simple equation and the stamps are with Jer.  Haiz, I am usually not that dense am I?

Here is the card I made for :

Our Daily Bread Designs - OBDBSLC30 White and Bright - use all white except for stamped image and embellishments.

Materials used :

1.   ODBD stamp, from the friendship collection, stamped with black versacolor ink and emboss with stampendous embossing powder

2.   White emboss card

3.   Spellbinders nestie

4.   Butterfly embellishment - K&Compan

5.   Flowers : Thailand, ribbon : Hong Kong

Layers upon layers of colours for woj

I have been inspired to make play with my woj stamps after I saw Elisabeth Bell spotlight on whiff of joy images, I realised I have not been playing with them much.   I still love them, they are so delicate that I have to take extra care when colouring them, and I have so much fun putting the card together.   The layering of the different colours remind me of a local dessert - a multi-coloured "kueh" or malay cake which my girls love to eat when they were young and they called it "colourful kueh"!

Pink Tilda

Time flies, the girls' summer holidays are almost over!   Cassie left for London today and I will not see her for another 3 months, she will be back for Christmas.    Liz will be leaving in less than 2 weeks!   She too will be coming back for Christmas.

Since they will both be back for Christmas, I decided to make a Christmas card today, to remind myself that before I know it, Christmas will be upon us!

My pink Tilda christmas card is for :

Here is my card which I made right after sending Cassie to the airport :-

Material used :

1.    Tilda on sledge coloured with copic markers.   I used the puffy velvet fabric marker on the fur hood and fur cuffs.   These markers are really cool, I applied onto the area I wanted to have a puff up 3 dimensional effect and use a heat gun on it, voila, it puff up very nicely.    I wish I have a white colour to use as snow though.

2.    The trees are from magnolia winter wonderland, coloured with distress ink and I used Stampendous fun flock (cotton ball white) on the trees and the tip of the pink snow flakes to achieve a 3 dimensional effect for the snow.

3.     Cardstock : DCWV,  pattern paper : papermania Deck the halls.

4.     Snow flake cutout with cricut merry tags cartridge

5.     Flower : Wild orchid crafts

Ying's blog candy

My good friend, Ying is the one and only Magnolia DT for Asia and we are really proud of her.   One of her card creation is on the cover page of Magnolia Ink - Fairy Tale, together with many cards appearing in the various Magnolia Ink magazines.   In the latest Magnolia Ink issue - Cosy Autumn she has 3 pages of tutorial.   I am anxiously waiting for my copy to arrive so I can see what she has come up with this time.   I am sure it will be something awesome, given her talent!  Go Ying Go!

Ying has a birthday blog candy at her blog, Ying and Mangolia (link as above).  Go check out her blog candy, its ending September 27 (her birthday) and wish her happy birthday as well as participate in her blog candy.

Thanks for dropping by, I hope to have some cards up soon.

Tilda with flowers

Wow, I am on a roll today, 3rd card of the day!   Once I start, I can't stop, but this will be the last card before Jer gets home from studying for her A levels prelim.   Cassie is out having dinner with her friends before leaving on Friday and with Jer away, I have Liz chattering next to me away as I make my cards.   It is good to have her sitting next to me chattering away, it is going to be very different when she leaves in 2 weeks.  I am going to miss her when she leaves, but then again I can't for her to finish her uni, which will be another 2 years.   I am beginning to see lights at the end of the financial tunnel.

I make this card for the following challenges :-

1.   Just Magnolia Special Monthly challenge - anything goes
2.   A spoon full of sugar challenge 119, lets get sketchy

Here is my card :-

Material used :

1.    Tilda with flowers coloured with copic markers

Penny Black Stamps

My very first internet order when I started scrapping was a huge order of Penny Black stamps and the parcel went on a world tour before arriving.     Luckily for me, the order came just as I was filling up my insurance forms for a claim.

Although I have quite a collection of PB stamps, I have not been using them much.   But recently I have been inspired by Yenni Natalia, (she is DT for PB and she makes the most amazing cards, pop over to her blog to see her lovely creations) to use my PB stamps.    I made a very very simple card for the
