A very merry Christmas to you

I am literally over the moon!!  I won  Belles 'n Whistles special release "merry sledding" from Lynda's blog hop and then the next day, I won the Belles 'n Whistles sketch and bold winter colour challenge!!  I can't wait for the "merry sledding" and the "skiing snow baby" to arrive.

So I have to make something for the next Belles 'n Whistles current challenge which is Christmas "glitter it up" before I leave for HK/Beijing tomorrow.   Check out Belles 'n Whistles blog, there is a Advent Calendar  where there are daily prizes to be won!  And I got the tutorial for the bag I made from the blog too!   And it is really easy to make, just score a 12 x 12 cardstock and make 4 cuts, glue and viola a paper gift bag!

Here is the bag I made for the Belles 'n Whistles Christmas 'glitter it up" challenge

This is the season for love

I pondered for the longest time which pattern paper to use for this card, I coloured snowy hug pink and blue and I have the perfect pattern paper from magnolia vintage Christmas, hanging ornaments but I was so reluctant to cut the paper because I love it so much.    Well, Christmas is the season for love, I will use the pattern paper I love, to send love to a love one, which is also the reason why I made a pop up love inside the card.

Here is the card I made for the following challenges :

Give thanks

Vincent left for Jordan and I was supposed to go with him on this trip, but somehow the timing does not permit, his meeting was rescheduled for one week earlier and Jer's A levels is still on going, so Petra would have to wait.

I made this card yesterday afternoon and completed it last night after Vincent left for the airport.   I was inspired to make a "thank you" card after my medical check up last week, I was given a clean bill of health by Dr Low, with the exception to increase my dosage of hypertension medication.    I was then reminded of  a sermon by Joel and Victoria Osteen :

Quote
It’s easy to get focused on what’s wrong in life, what we don’t have, and how big our obstacles are. If we’re not careful, we’ll lose sight of all the good things God has done. We’ll take for granted our family, friends, health and the opportunities God has blessed us with. We’ll get so busy and stressed out that we won’t appreciate the gift of today
Unquote

When making this card, I am reminded to give thanks constantly to God for keeping me, for keeping my family and friends, for our good health that God has blessed us with.

Here is my card which I am entering for the following challenges :-

1.  Whiff of Joy challenge #92 - Tara sketch

It's snowing - you made me blush

I have been busy the past week with doctor's appointment, luncheon talks and dinners, so was unable to come up with any cards.

I finally completed a card last night but was rushing to go for my yoga session after picking Jer from school after her econs paper, and wanted to enter for the DCD Christmas Club challenge #43 which was snowflakes, but I was too late, then I discovered to my delight today that the next DCD challenge is "anything goes"!

I had a fun time in calligraphy class today,  but poor Vincent has to settle the repair of his wine chiller which broke down again, after his new stock of cloudy bay arrived!  Well ever the optimist, I told him I am actually glad that it chose to break down today, instead of next week, as he would be away and I would never notice that the chiller is not working and by the time he is back, all the wine would have gone bad (even though we have to pay for double service charge for a weekend repair).

I made my card for the following challenges :-

1.  Simon says : Sparkle
2.  Anything goes challenge week 25 - let it snow
3.  ABC challenge - H is for holidays
4.  DCD Christmas Club challenge #44 - anything goes

Here is my card :

Materials used :

1.  Penny Black stamp : you made me blush coloured with Caran D'Ache colour pencils
2.  Patten paper : DCWV winter wonder stack, cardstock : DCWV, glitter paper : KI memories
3.  Sizzix snowflake embossit and frame back ornate #3
4.  Stickles : turquoise
5.  Snowflakes brads

I cut the snowflake cutout from the sizzix embossit into half and used as border for the crisscross.  Thanks for dropping by :-)

Magic mushroom and a purple and Black Tilda card

I brought Jer to see Dr See and she asked him for a magic mushroom so that she can get well immediately! Dr See is one of the most caring doctor I know and he does not have any magic mushroom, but he did give jer plenty of medicine and rang me to check on her and give me further instructions on her medication!   Get well soon Jer and relax, big smile and big hug, I love you and aunty Ying sends her regards to you :-)

Wishing you all the JOYS of the season

It has been more than a week since Vincent left for Germany, he is now in London spending time with our two older girls who are in university there.    I am home alone with Jer who is taking her A levels, and her first paper is on Tuesday.   She has been studying very hard and unfortunately has also caught the flu bug.  I have been trying to load her with home brewed herbal tea, double boiled chicken soup, fish soup, and lots of vegetables and fruits.

It will be another week before Vincent heads home, and I am trying to make a paper bags album as inspired by my mentor Angie, but I decided to take a break and make a card for the following challenges :

1.   Sweet Stamping Challenge - a sketch

The Digi Bells DT call

I was pondering if I should make a card for Elisabeth Bell : The Digi Bells Guest DT call (November/December) which ends today!   And since I was on a high after attending David Foster and friends concert 2 nights ago featuring the ever classy Natalie Cole, Charice, Peter Cetera, Ruben Studdard and the Canadian Tenors, plus remembering what my ever encouraging (but brutally honest) mentor Angie shifu told me : you have nothing to lose, except your pride, I made this card which is based on the following sketch, to participate in the above guest DT call.

1.   Image : I love you this much from Elisabeth Bell Digi collection which can be ordered @ Elisabeth Bell digishop, coloured with copic markers

2.  Cardstock : American crafts - pastels

3.  Pattern paper : my mind's eye, and K & Company

4.  EK Success corner punch

5.  Lace : Wild orchid crafts

Vintage layout

I did this vintage layout with Eunice @ scrapholics  yesterday!   I really like the how the layout turn out as I am not very much a brown person and am pleasantly surprised to use shades of blue, purple to create vintage charm!   Learned some really interesting technics and ideas from her,  thanks Eunice :-).

Vincent left for Germany for his almost 3 weeks trip this morning, and I am home alone with Jer away in school most of the time studying for her A levels.   Well, I will have more time for my yoga, exercise, calligraphy, painting and crafting!  I need to tidy up my craft area too :-)

Thanks for dropping by :-)

1.  Sweet love whistle 'n belles stamp colored with prismacolor pencils
2.  Cardstock : a zone paper from popular
