I am back!  I had a great time in Hong Kong with ma and my brother's family.   It was great to have my elder brother joined us for dinner one of the night.  I have never seen ma more happy.  I shall blog more about my first trip with ma later as I am rushing to link my following card which I made this afternoon for :

It could be many things... an envelope, a pull out, doors that open to reveal something, a Joy Fold, Flip Flop, Magic Slider...anything that you don't see at first glance.
I made a gate fold card
and 2 bookmarks
I used sizzix extra biz scallop rectangle for the base to hold the bookmarks , and spellbinders label eleven to cut the window.

I did 2 sessions of yoga this morning, came back feeling really great!  I am going for another 2 sessions tomorrow, followed by a one week break since I am going to HK with ma, Ti (my younger brother) and his family, meeting my older brother who is working in Shanghai in Hong Kong.  I am looking forward to this trip as it would be ma's first trip out of the country since pa passed on 17 years ago.

Since I am going to be away,  I want to make a few cards before I take a one week break.   I have not played with my Elisabeth Bells' stamps for a while, so here is a card I made for the following challenges :

Chelsea's blog candy

I am very much saddened by the 8.9 earthquake and tsunami that just hit Japan.   I pray and hope there aren't too much casualties.   We are booked to go to Tokyo for a short get-away, looks like we might have to cancel the trip.

To take our minds off the depressing situation and news, there is a fantastic blog candy at Chelsea's : Crafting Life's pieces, she is giving away gorgeous prima papers and her handmade goodies to one lucky winner.   Hop over to her blog and check out her candy :-)

The word of our God shall stand forever

I made this card after I came back from my painting class and lunch with 3 of my treasured friends.

I secured the two pieces of cut-outs with a pearl brad...

...and it opens reveal the verse from Isaiah 40:8

2.  Pattern paper : 6 x 6 Prima sweet fairy stack, cardstock : DCWV

Our treasure and joy

Ever since I saw these 2 photos of Jer, I know I have to do a layout page.   All my layout pages are done with help and assistance during classes.   This is the first time I did a layout on my own.   And since I so love the webster's pages paper and vellum, I simple have to use them for the layout. Here is the layout I made for the following challenges :-

1.  Webster Pages March challenge : create a shaped layout
2.  Our Daily Bread designs blog week 1 (ODBDLYLS3) -**fuchsia flowers or the color fuchsia for the anniversary flower OR
**crystal or glass for the anniversary modern gift (this can be faux crystal gems, a glass embellishment, etc.), AND**ODBD stamps!
I stamped the image on a piece of vellum cut-out with cloudy white versamark ink, and used white embossing powder to create this.
I used a brad to fasten the them together and viola it opens to this verse

I stamped image on a cardstock, cut it out and cut a piece of Webster's page netting and stuck it onto the image and secured it with pearl strings.

I love the sparklers but I didn't have a red colour, so I used copic marker to colour a clear piece (I learned this from Webster's page DT Gerry van Gent)

Materials used :
1.  Webster's pages : Lullaby Lane diecut
2.  Webster's pages bloomers
3.  Webster's pages petite 6 x 6
4.  Webster's pages sparklers
5.  Webster's pages fabric ribbons and nettings
6.  MS punch
7.  Spellbinders nestabilities
8.  Stamps : ODBD, Unity and Clear stamps
9.  Prima crystals

Congratulations

As I mentioned in my previous post, I am so happy since yesterday, my youngest daughter, Jer had her A levels results yesterday and she has all As and we are so happy for her, the baby of the family.  She has done well and we thank God for His grace and we are really really proud of her.

I made this card for her and to enter the Peachy Keen Stamps sketch challenge 46 :-

Natalee, one of my very first Peachy Keen stamp, isn't she cute!  Just like my Jer :-)

To close the card, I used a pearl brad and "hook" the end of the brad to it.  To open, simply "unhook"

1.  Peachy Keen stamp : Natalee, coloured with copic markers
2.  Pattern paper : downloaded from Craft beautiful magazine, card stock DCWV
3.  Pearl brads : American craft

Mindy's blog candy

I have been over the moon since yesterday, and have made a card to celebrate my good news, but that would have to wait, I am still doing some finishing touches to the card.  In the meantime, this post is about Mindy's blog candy.  I am a great fan of Mindy's creations and her colouring skills, they are really awesome.  She has a blog candy to offer, all you need to do is to be a follower and spread the news of her candy on her blog.
