Happy Mother's Day

I made this card after I came back a yoga session.   I bought Jer a bottle of black shatter and a bottle of silver.   She painted her nails a riot of colors and applied a layer of black shatter on them.  Here is a photo of her holding the card I just made and showing off her nails :

This card is for the Card Pattern sketch 110

Materials used :
1.  Happy Mother's Day stamp : Peachy Keen, heat embossed
2.  Pattern paper : Prima, cardstock : DCWV
3.  Spellbinders nestie hearts circle and circle
4.  MS punch
5.  Flower : wild orchid
6.  Ribbons : Hong Kong

Happy Easter

I made this card when Vincent and Jer were watching the EPL last night.  Jer told me, there are only 2 things that can really make papa happy : seeing his family happy and around him AND watching football!  Well Jer is the son Vincent always wanted, she would watch and discuss football with him.  It is good to see father and daughter bonding over football.

I tried something new with this card, instead of stamping the tulip pathway on a cardstock and adhere to the  pattern paper, I stamped it directly on to the pattern paper and coloured it with copic markers.  I am quite pleased with how it turned out.  I also used the ruching that I learned to make from Becca of Amazing Paper Grace,  glued flowers on the piece of ruched ribbon, making it looked like a bed of flowers in the foreground.

This card is for the following challenges :
1.  Simon Says challenge : its time for spring colours/Easter
2.  Reasonably ribbon - use dies, punches or ribbon
3.  ABC challenge : R is for ribbon
4.  Magnolia stamp lovers : Ribbon

Materials used :
1.  Magnolia stamps : Running Tilda and tulip walkway colored with copic markers, sentiment : Heartfelt creations
2.  Pattern paper : Prima, cardstock : DCWV
3.  Spellbinders nesties
4. Flowers : Wild Orchid
5. Satin ribbons

I learned how to tie the collar bow from Becca of Amazing Paper Grace, she made the most amazing and pretty bows and flowers.

Materials used :
1.  Beautiful Tilda coloured with copic markers

You are the love of my life

Thursdays are always happy days for me, because it is my painting with Astrid day!   I just came back from painting class, feeling happy.   I chose a very difficult to paint photo this time round - clouds!   But I kept telling myself I can do this, just like in yoga, when the master wanted me to do some really difficult poses, I always tell myself, I can do this and try my hardest!   I might not be able to master it at once, but I am sure with practice, I can do it, likewise for my painting.

Here is another card I did with my newly purchased stamps from Heartfelt creations and spellbinders, for the Mojo Monday 185 contest.   Lily is my favourite flower and it gives me lot of joy to create this card.

Materials used :

1.  Heartfelt creations stamp : lily, Hero Arts background stamp, You are the love of my life : Stampendous
2.  Pattern paper : Prima, cardstock : DCWV
3.  Spellbinders shapeabilities floral doily motifs and fancy tags two, grand label eleven
4.  Ribbons : Hong Kong

Hi sweetie

Today is a happy day!  Min is back from London for Easter holidays, she has 4 weeks off from school, spent the first week travelling to Wales and Canary Islands, then home for 3 weeks before going back for her exams.   I was supposed to go to London and spend some time with her before her exams, but she decided to come home instead, which is great!   It is certainly good to have her back.

I made this cheery card with Min's being home in mind and used the new heartfelt stamps and spellbinders for Happy Monday Challenge : polka dots, checks and stripes

Materials used :
1.  Heartfelt creations Posy Patch clusters and Posy Patch flowers inked with versamark on vellum and heat embossed with white embossing  powder, coloured with distress ink (fired bricks and peeled paint).
2.  Hero art sentiment stamps : Sweetie
3.  Pattern paper : DCWV doodle stack, cardstock : DCWV
4.  Cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder
5.  Checked ribbon : Hong Kong
6.  Spellbinders
