Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path

I had such a fantastic time at painting class today.  My painting should be completed in another 3 weeks and I hope to have it posted here.

And I baked a fruit cake when I came back and finally made this card for the Our daily bread designs odbdslc49 : sentiment and overstamping

I kept my card simple as I want the sentiment and the overstamping of the image to stand out, here is my card :

Materials used :

1.  ODBD stamps, both sentiment and image, stamped with distressed inks (black soot and milled lavender).
2.  Pattern paper : crafty secrets radiant pack and cosmo cricket mitten weather, cardstock : Popular
3.  EK success daisy chain punch
4.  Spellbinders nestabilities
5.  Buttons : Hong Kong

Gift box

I know I am supposed to be doing the background from my canvas for my painting class tomorrow, but I cannot resist altering this empty box that I found when we packed our storeroom during spring cleaning for cny.

I altered this box for Peachy Keen Lets face it friday - think spring (handmade gifts), I do hope my altered box qualifies for "handmade gifts".

Here is my altered box :-

 The original box

The cover of the gift box

I layered cut-out from mulberry paper over cut-out from paper foam to achieve a 3 d effect for the flower

I stamped the heart with PK cute faces and pasted them over the flowers

The inside of the cover

Materials used :

1.  Peachy Keen PK-159 - Simple simons for the flower,  PK 490 everyday character face, 3/8" for the hearts and 1" for the flower on the inside of the cover
2. Pattern paper : DCWV spring flowers stack, cardstock : DCWV brights
3.  Sizzix dies
4.  Spellbinders nestibilities
5.  Sentiments stamp : Just for you - Elzybells
6.  Stickles : yellow

Happy Birthday

This will be a very short post as I still have to do the background on my canvas to prepare for my painting class tomorrow.    I received the magnolia  hearts doohickey last night and wanted to use them but instead use the ms heart punch instead, and i do want to play with my doohickey, so I shall not spend too much time on this post.

This happy birthday card is made for the following challenges :

1.  Just Magnolia week 94 : love you
2.  Magnolia Stamp lovers : pastel challenge
3.  Samuel Taylors monthly challenge : copic chic/promarker gal - anything coloured with copics or promarkers

Here is my card :

Before I list the materials used, I have to credit Becca of Amazing Paper Grace for her tutorial on the "tie a pretty collar bow" which I learned to make the above, I stuck a satin purple flower in the centre as my collar bow wasn't tied very nicely and there was a gap in the centre.   Go check out Becca's blog, she has the most amazing and awesome creations with spellbinders and ribbons.

Materials used:

1.  Magnolia stamp : birthday Tilda coloured with copic markers
2.  Pattern paper : Li'l Davis Designs : little one - lullaby
3.  Happy Birthday stamp : ODBD
4.  MS heart punch
5. Stickles : icicle
6.  Ribbon and purple satin flowers : Hong Kong

Thinking of you

So, I am supposed to clear up my craft area as my dear mentor Angie and her mentor Flo are coming over for lunch, fellowship and maybe a spot of crafting (?).   But instead of packing and clearing, I ended up making another card, my 2nd card of the day.  Once I start with magnolia stamps, it is kinda hard to stop.  And I really love this waiting Tilda since I received it from Funn 2 days ago.    I miss my 2 girls who are studying in the UK terribly and even more so during this festive period (Chinese new year).  I made this card with my 2 baobei in mind, and here is my card for the following challenge :-

Just Magnolia week 92 - special monthly challenge with ribbons

Materials used :

1.  Magnolia stamp : Waiting Tilda coloured with copic markers, sentiment stamp : thinking of you : ODBD
2.  Pattern paper : Little yellow bicyle lollipop strip with glitter (this is my 3rd card with this paper), card stock, AC primaries, glitter paper : KI Memories
3.  Spellbinders scallop rectangle and classic square
4.  Rangers stickles icicles
5.  Ribbon : Hong Kong
6.  Paper rose : wild orchid crafts
7.  Rhinestones : stash

You are so special with glittery hearts

I have not played with the magnolia stamps for a while, so when I have the chance to, I inked up Tilda with hearts lace from the "you are so special" collection and made this card for the following challenges :

1. Magnolia down under challenge #82 - love
2. Magnolia Stamp lovers : Glitter challenge

I applied glitter generously over all the little hearts (I really put in alot of hearts to make this card), and hope it qualifies for the glitter challenge!

Here is my card :

close up of the glittery hearts

Materials used :

1.  Magnolia stamps : Tilda with hearts lace coloured with copic markers, and "you are so special", both from the "you are so special" collection.
2.  Pattern paper : little yellow bicyle - lollipop stripe with glitter, cardstock : AC - primaries
3.  Martha Stewart heart punch
4.  Ranger stickles : Icicle
5.  Ribbon : Hong Kong (I tied the ribbon round the cardstock very much like the lace of the ballet flat)
