All we need is love

Love is patient,
Love is kind,
It does not envy, it does not boast,
It is not proud. It is not rude,
It is not self-seeking, nor easily angered,
It keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil
but rejoices with the truth.
Love always protects, always trusts,
always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8

I have been impatient with Liz this morning and I am going to post this card I made, to her, as a way of apology, I am sorry darling I love her and I should be more patient.  I miss both you and Min, more so, during the festive period.

When I saw the figure 8 bow from Amazing paper grace, which Becca has a you-tube video on how to make this.  It is relatively easy and since I do not have a ribbon with the stitch round the edge, so I sewed it with running stitches.   Using the same method, I sewed running stitches on a much thinner velvet ribbon and make the base for the flowers to hold up the card.

I added a bookmark (I left a slot at the back of this easel card)

Chinese New Year blessings

Chinese New year is just round the corner and there are still so much things I needed to get done.  Somehow I am very very late this year and I have no help as my full time domestic helper Ju-an had been unwell and returned home.

So, while trying to do some spring cleaning, and going for my painting class, I made this chinese new year card for the girls. Qi is attending a conference in London so it is great that the two sisters could spend cny together.   I also sent a parcel of cny goodies together with the card, so they would not miss home too much.   Here is my card which is based on Peachy keen sketch challenge 44 with a twist - use monochromatic colour scheme.

Mandarin oranges are a must for chinese new year, as is the colour red, and the challenge called for a monochromatic colour so I decided to make a chinese new year card.

A closed up of the oranges, aren't they too cute for words?

 福 (fu) - blessings

吉祥如意 (ji xiang ru yi) - good fortune as one wishes (I need to practice writing my calligraphy more regularly)

To love and to laugh

I have been feeling very aggrieved when someone I went out of the way to help, turned around and slapped me on the face.  So much for helping, but as Flo told me time and again, its ok, God knows and God cares and God will bless me richly.   And true enough, thank God, I won the January Digibells challenge,  see previous post, hearts and chocolates.  And this cheered me immensely plus God provide comfort in the form of support and encouragement from my buddy and Liz.

I won my very first challenge from Peachy Keen stamps (who has the cutest stamps ever, and they can be found here ), thus Peachy Keen is very closed to my heart, so this week I decided to make a card for their Tuesday sketch challenge 43 and after making the card, I realised is also suitable for their Lets face it Friday challenge : X's and O's

 Cheer up Ace :-)

My new craft area

I have been stuck in a craft rut as Jer calls it, even though I just had my exercise area revamped into my craft area and relinquished the study area back to Vincent, I simply cannot get back crafting.   I have new cabinets fixed is still in the process of packing and arranging all my crafting stuff neatly.  Vincent volunteered  to do the packing for me, but I refused, preferring to take my time organising all the stuff that I have amassed over the past year.

Jer and I wanted to spend the evening crafting (so that I can get out of the crafting rut I am in now) as Vincent has a dinner appointment.   However as it turned out, I have to go with him for the dinner, so crafting will have to take a back seat till tomorrow.  I hope to make some valentine and chinese new year cards.

Here is my new craft area which I am still trying to organise :

The study area which I used to do my crafting, playing computer games and talking to the girls.

Jer has been working on altering a note book into a diary, here is a sneak peak to what she has done.  I think she is at June or July now.  She is working on a rainbow coloured theme, using colours from the rainbow for each month.

Thanks for dropping by, I hope to have some craft creations tomorrow.

Pixie Dust Paperie giveaways

I am finally back!   I just realised my last update was a month ago, before we went to Hong Kong and Beijing.   So much has happened in the last 4 weeks : we had a great trip, the girls came home for Christmas, then we took a trip to Penang over the new year where I tried para-sailing (which was really exciting), and next on my "to try" list is bungee jumping.   I wonder what would Vincent say.

I do not have any creations to show today, but I want to let everyone know there is a fantastic give away at Pixie dust paperieie.   I have to thank Kathy who visited, and left a link for me.   Check it out, it is very simple to qualify for the draw.

I hope to create something soon, because my mentor Angie gave me some beautiful making memories paper.  I just have to do something with them.

Thanks for dropping by, do check out Pixie dust paperie blog for their giveaways.
